Unexpected in NYC: take train 7 to another world

I suppose you could be forgiven for thinking I’m obsessed with New York. Really, I’m not. But it’s such a fantastic destination. Totally fantastic. And its name keeps on cropping up in expected and unexpected places: magazines, books, films, television programmes, conversations with friends, conversations with strangers…plus almost every single travel blog in existence. So I find it hard to resist.

Those two words “unexpected places” are the key to this particular post. New York is a city with lots of them. If you’re adventurous (as all true blue Aussies undoubtedly are), you’ll be keen to visit one or two at least. Anyway, that’s my excuse for what I’m about to tell you, and I’m sticking to it. So here goes.

Your travel budget might not extend to visiting the Amazon, Argentina and other parts of Latin America, but you can get a real taste of these places in Midtown Manhattan’s Roosevelt Avenue. I don’t pretend to be an expert on this area, so I’m sending you to someone who is: take a look here.

Sounds good, don’t you agree? So, if you’ve got two hours to spare in the Big Apple, why not hop on Train 7? Those Argentine sweets have caught my eye: I might see you down there.
